Christian Education Materials

Teachers: David Hwang, Joe Whittle, Sunny Wong, Wilson Chan, Simeon Wong

Description: We live in a day in which we are constantly bombarded by many different and often contradictory voices competing to tell us what we ought to think and how we ought to live. It can all be so confusing… with so many different opinions, how can we know which ones (if any) are right? Fortunately, as followers of Christ, there is ultimately only a single voice that matters – God's voice, as heard in His Word, the Bible.  In this class, we’ll seek to think Biblically about a range of topics that impact on our daily lives (for example, money, poverty, work, time management, gender/sexuality, etc.)

Teachers: David Hwang, Caleb Toong, Wilson Chan

Description: The Old Testament was the "Bible" that Jesus used, yet it is hardly ever opened by many Christians.  This course will provide a brief book-by-book introduction to the Old Testament - its historical context, story-line, and major themes.  This course will run for two terms (6 months) and leads off a more in-depth book-by-book study through the entire Bible that is being planned for the coming years.

GENESIS – Part 1(TRACK: Bible Knowledge)

: David Hwang, Sunny Wong, Austin So

Description: Genesis, the first book of the Bible, is fundamental to understanding the 'big questions' of life - Who is God? Who are we? Where did we come from? Why are we here? What's wrong with the world? How can we and the world in which we live be made right? A proper of understanding of Genesis is also foundational to understanding all the books that follow in the Bible.  Join us as we work through the book of Genesis, as we seek to know what God is saying through this 'book of beginnings' and to understand how this Word continues to apply to us today.  Please note that in order to encourage reflection on and engagement with the Scriptures, and to facilitate small and large group discussions within the class, this class will include brief weekly homework assignments.

Christian History Made Easy

Teachers: Allan Huang, Rev. Ben Montoya

Description: Christian History can be a difficult topic to study because there is so much to consider, e.g., people, places, dates. Yet, Christian History matters because we are all affected by it in more ways than we know. What’s the solution? Well, to help with this issue, we will be offering this course to help make this larger topic simple, though not simplistic. If you’re interested in learning more, please join us this semester as we seek to learn the history and practical lessons for us today.
